EE.UU: ROMINA GONZALES – PARDON OUR APPEARANCE

Curated by Edison Zapata Romina Gonzales presents what seems to be a whimsical ‘selfyesque’ portrayal of identity as a fantastical notion polarised by a self-loathing grotesque gazing of herself ‘made up’ to keep appearances in a world of shallow plastic attitudes and expectations. The film she has prepared is an aggressive, overly frontal exaggerated projection of appearances, that scrutinises the “self”, the everyday, the “selfie”.
