18\/03\/2020 Madrid.- A medida que evoluciona la situaci\u00f3n del COVID-19, la Organizaci\u00f3n Mundial del Turismo (OMT) observa que en distintos lugares del mundo se han introducido \u2013y se seguir\u00e1n introduciendo\u2013 restricciones totales o parciales a los viajes. Estas decisiones se adoptan con la salud p\u00fablica como preocupaci\u00f3n primordial.<\/strong><\/p>\n

As the COVID-19 situation evolves, the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) observes that full or partial travel restrictions have been \u2013 and continue to be \u2013 introduced across the world. These decisions are made with public health as the primary concern.<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Esta pandemia afecta a todos los niveles de la sociedad y en estos momentos estamos junto a los afectados. La repercusi\u00f3n de la pandemia en unas econom\u00edas que ya est\u00e1n ralentiz\u00e1ndose ha hecho que el turismo sea especialmente vulnerable, convirti\u00e9ndose en el sector m\u00e1s golpeado hasta la fecha. Adem\u00e1s, el 80 % del sector est\u00e1 integrado por peque\u00f1as y medianas empresas, lo que significa que hoy son millones las personas cuyos medios de vida est\u00e1n en situaci\u00f3n vulnerable.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

This pandemic affects every level of society and we stand by those affected in these times. The impact of the pandemic on already slowing economies has made tourism particularly vulnerable, becoming the hardest hit sector so far. With 80% of the sector made up of small and medium-sized enterprises, millions of livelihoods in the world are left vulnerable<\/span>.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Las personas y su bienestar deben ser lo primero. La OMT contin\u00faa colaborando estrechamente con la Organizaci\u00f3n Mundial de la Salud (OMS) para impulsar una respuesta colaborativa al COVID-19. Despu\u00e9s de una reuni\u00f3n de alto nivel en la sede de la OMS en Ginebra (10 de marzo), subrayamos juntos la importancia de la cooperaci\u00f3n internacional y de un liderazgo fuerte en estos tiempos dif\u00edciles.<\/strong><\/p>\n

People and their wellbeing must come first! UNWTO continues to work closely with the World Health Organization (WHO) to further a collaborative response to COVID-19. Following a high-level meeting at WHO headquarters in Geneva (10 March), we jointly underscore the importance of international cooperation and strong leadership in these difficult times.<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Este es un reto compartido y todos debemos ser parte de la soluci\u00f3n. Cualquiera que viaje, ya sea por misiones humanitarias vitales, en viajes de negocios esenciales o para mantener en funcionamiento las cadenas de suministro, tiene el deber de cuidar de s\u00ed mismo y de los dem\u00e1s. No puede haber excusas ni excepciones, ya que las personas de todo el mundo est\u00e1n mostr\u00e1ndose a la altura de sus responsabilidades. Si viajan, h\u00e1ganlo de manera segura y sigan las directrices, simples pero eficaces, existentes.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This is a shared challenge and everybody must be part of the solution. Anyone travelling, whether for vital humanitarian missions, essential business or to keep supply chains functioning, has a duty of care to themselves and others. There can be no excuses and no exceptions as people around the world are living up to their responsibilities. If you do travel, stay safe and follow the existing simple but effective guidelines<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Actividades de la OMT<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

La OMT ha implementado protocolos de salud p\u00fablica basados en las recomendaciones de la OMS y siguiendo estrictamente las medidas introducidas por el Gobierno de Espa\u00f1a, nuestro pa\u00eds anfitri\u00f3n. Todos los eventos de la OMT programados hasta el 30 de abril se han suspendido y se reprogramar\u00e1n, atendiendo a las \u00faltimas recomendaciones de los expertos.<\/strong><\/p>\n

UNWTO operations<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

UNWTO has implemented public health protocols based on WHO recommendations and we are closely following the measures introduced by the government of Spain, our host country. All UNWTO events planned until 30 April have been suspended and will be rescheduled, based on the latest expert recommendations.<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Para estar a la altura de su responsabilidad social, y cuidar de la seguridad y bienestar de sus familias, el personal de la OMT trabajar\u00e1 desde casa hasta final de marzo, y seguiremos estando plenamente operativos durante estos tiempos extraordinarios.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Living up to our social responsibility, and caring for the safety and wellbeing of their families, UNWTO personnel will be working from home until the end of March, and we remain fully operational during these extraordinary times.<\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Stay home \u2013 but travel tomorrow!<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

El turismo es un sector que ocupa una posici\u00f3n privilegiada a la hora de liderar la futura recuperaci\u00f3n. Nuestro sector proporcionar\u00e1 los puestos de trabajo a las personas que necesiten volver a la actividad e impulsar<\/strong>\u00e1 un crecimiento econ\u00f3mico que ayudar\u00e1 a comunidades y pa\u00edses enteros a recuperarse.<\/p>\n

Tourism is uniquely placed to lead future recovery. Our sector will provide the jobs people need to bounce back and will drive economic growth that will help whole communities and countries to recover.<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Pero por ahora, debemos ser pacientes y estar preparados.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

But for now, we must be patient and stand ready.<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n
